USA v. Ronald N. Montaperto - Page 1

The following is the 8-page "Statement of Facts" by federal prosecutors in United States of America v. Ronald N. Montaperto, Criminal No. 1:06cr257. The statement lays out the federal government's legal case against Montaperto, a Chinese spy, who made a plea agreement to waive indictment and plead guilty to one count of unlawful retention of classified documents, in exchange for his full cooperation in the case.

In his agreement, Montaperto agrees to give up his federal pension and any proceeds from his government work.

Bill Gertz broke the story in the June 23 Washington Times; aggressive damage control from the National Security Council and other government agencies helped spike the story elsewhere.

FourthWorldWar.com has started the Montaperto blog to publish government documents and other items related to the espionage case.
